Thousands of years ago, a group of Elders came together to create worlds. They called themselves, 'The Assembly of the Elite". They appointed the eldest elder, Hamorin, as their leader.
When they created Zargothia, the original god was Hernacious and the humans were his to rule over. However, much like their god, they were cruel, not only to nature but to animals too, killing without remorse. Hamorin and the elders warned Hernacious repeatedly that if the humans didn't change, they would be punished. The warnings went unheeded and true to their word, the Elders changed the humans to the hideous creatures they are now called, Sadarkians.
The Assembly of the Elite created a new race of humans, this time ensuring that they had compassion but also giving them free will like the first race. Their god was called, Zymbion. Now, both Zymbion and the new humans, treated their lands and the animals with much more respect. They lived in relative peace with the Sadarkians until a war broke out between the two races. It lasted decades until the Elders were forced to intervene and made the two sides sign a peace treaty. A border was set up and neither humans nor Sadarkians could cross that. If either crossed into the other side, they would be held prisoner.
Hernacious, with his anger towards the Elders building up over the years, finally is unable to contain it any longer. In a moment of sheer cruelty and knowing that he cannot strike directly at the humans, he places a curse on the unicorns. No longer are they their beautiful shimmering white, but instead he reduced them to brown horse-like creatures with wings and the ability to breathe fire. Hernacious took their ability to remain invisible. As a result and to protect her race, the Unicorn Queen, Eusaba, moved all the unicorns to an underground cave in the Forest of Aandour.
The god didn't stop there. He made King Argoth sick for certain months of the year, thus trying to weaken the king ruling his people.
Biding his time, Hernacious plotted the demise of The Assembly of the Elite, waiting for the opportune moment to kill off each one. He eventually struck, killing five of the twelve members. If he killed one more, then he would have the ability to create life. The Elders go into hiding.
Now that they've retreated, Hernacious implements his next phase. Working with an old wizard, Slyvanon, he hatches a plan to overthrow the humans and have Sadarkians rule Zargothia. Slyvanon brainwashes a young Sadarkian named Nemus who spent time with the humans when his father was killed. Nemus was captured five years later when he crossed the border and taken to the King Mordoch. Nemus, now under Slyvanon's influence, became a great soldier until
through some treachery by Slyvanon, Mordoch was killed. Nemus, now known as Zakarius, was crowned King. With all the forces of the kingdom under his command, he lay siege to Argoth in a surprise assault.
King Zakarius, now victorious in the surprise attack, gloats in his victory. Wandering around inspecting his new home, the former king Argoth's castle. In a moment of rare generosity, Zakarius allows Argoth, Queen Cyren and the sorceress, Karina, to leave and wander the wilderness, which becomes their new home for a while.
Taking pity on King Argoth's plight, Zymbion and the Elders intervene, building a secret haven for humans called, Little Zargothia. Soon word grows about the new haven. More and more humans come here to hide from the Sadarkians.
After a few years in Little Zargothia, Karina is paid a visit by Zymbion. He gives her a magic gold coin. She must go to the Mount of Lillies two miles from the Forest of Aandour and when she reaches the top, she must recite a spell to send the coin through a portal to find the saviour to free King Argoth's people from the Sadarkians.
Karina set out on the trek and completed her mission.
Now King Argoth and his people wait for their hero known as, 'The Foretold One..."
